Bulkley Valley Classical String Society Presents:
Spirit of the North Classical Music Festival

Brought to you by the Bulkley Valley Classical Strings Society, The Spirit of the North Festival is made possible by grant support from Canada Heritage and the British Columbia Arts Council.

This world-class festival is a so valuable up in Smithers because it allows us to experience the artistic excellence of the north, strengthens networks between our communities, and opens avenues of exploring our identity as people and northerners.

This innovative and vibrant event provides opportunities for northerners to hear world-class musicians, full orchestras, new compositions, chamber music masterworks, and much more, in settings ranging from free, family-friendly outdoor spaces to more formal concert stages. The Spirit of the North Classical Music Festival is particularly special because it features performers from our community and region, as well as a number of renowned guest musicians who share a professional or personal connection to northern BC.
