The Smithers Art Gallery is pleased to present three local exceptional artists from February 25 to March 28, 2026!
In the Main Gallery, Veronica Walker of the Kispiox Valley presents Northern Sunlight. Working in acrylic on canvas, she captures the vibrant light, shadow, and wilderness of northern BC, with each piece framed in handmade cedar from local wood. Her use of bold palettes and flowing lines reflects both the subtle serenity and dramatic energy of the environment she calls home. Whether it's the icy blues of snow-covered slopes or the vivid warmth of a sunset sky, her pieces celebrate the ever-shifting moods of nature.
In the Mini Gallery, Shannon Goodhead’s Between Chaos and Calm blends fluid acrylic pours with landscapes, northern life, and touches of whimsy. Each painting explores the harmony between chaos and calm, with striking splashes of colour, entangled patterns, and the softness of dreamscapes.
Sharing the space, Marjorie Butler presents Salvage, featuring soft-sculpture “dolls” that transform everyday materials into thoughtful works of creativity and self-exploration.
