Smithers Events

Our July 1st history walk returns for 2024! This year the walk will examine the history of fires on Main Street in the early decades of Smithers history – how they affected the town, and contributed to the development of our fire fighting services.
Join us at 9:45am at the Smithers Fire Hall for a special presentation by Smithers Fire Rescue. The walk will then get underway at 10am from the Bulkley Valley Museum.

This is a FREE event! Donations in support of this and other museum activities and events are welcome.
Please note that the only washroom available on the walk is the Portland Loo at the corner of Main and Second Avenue. We encourage all participants to bring bottled water, wear comfortable walking shoes, and to dress for the weather. Leashed dog friends are welcome!
